Homework

Dynamic Progress Reporting (DPR)

Teachers will set and track assignments (or homework) through the DPR. In this way, students will be able to see an explicit link between their assignments with their key learning objectives found on their DPR.

Parents, teachers and students can track assignment submissions, access resources to aid learning and ask for feedback through the communication portal.

Over time, teachers and parents will be able to analyse the quality of assignments set and evaluate its impact on students’ learning.

Guide to logging in to DPR

Students in Y7, Y8 and Y9 have a memory booklet and they will have to memorise key information each week to ensure learning sticks in their long term memory.

Students will be set information to memorise for each subject. They should use the look, cover, write, check, repeat method at home to help memorise this information. In lesson, they will then be assessed on what they have memorised through a short quiz, often using mini whiteboards.

Students in Y10 and 11will complete exam style questions to help them prepare for assessments and to assess their application of knowledge.

Students will be set exam style questions. They will be expected to respond via the DPR or to hand work in during class. The teacher will assess their responses and address any misconceptions during lesson time. This style of homework will also help to build writing stamina which is crucial for exams.
